The Wall
FAN ART! I have a bunch of fan art stacked up and I keep getting more, so I'm going to start releasing five pieces of fan art each update. I've decided it'd be a good idea to let the new artist's fan art get priority, so all of today's fan art is from people who haven't had any put on the site yet. First is a piece by Starlover Inc. (cool name ;o) As you can see the colors got a little messed up (If you're using Paint, saving in the PNG file type is the best), but it's pretty good. I especially like the way the kid raising his hand is repeated exactly the same in the sixth frame. That kind of repetition done in a good way is a good thing. The last frame is a good finish. Next is Shokkur's fan art. Shokkur has submitted before, but I was surprised to find that I haven't put any on the site yet. ;o I like this fan art, it's saying Super Mega is different which is something I aim for, though it is kinda ironic that I put this on the site the first day the comic has full color, and that in full color the people have white (not yellow) faces. I tried yellow faces, it didn't fit, and I wanted the comic to have a soft look, so I went with the white. ANYWAYS, thanks, Shokkur. The next is Crown Frog by Matt. I like the way he misses and turns just the crown into a toad. Changing a crown into a living thing is a strange thing, and that is cool. Fourth is this by Russianspy. I like how there is two frames of crying before you get to any talking. I work to make the pacing in my comics a certain way, depending on the comic, which is why you'll see repeat frames or short phrases or stuff. The two frames of crying then moving to the next line is good pacing, then right after the 3rd frame is more speech to wrap it up, so yeah I like it and it has good pacing. Thanks, Russianspy! Last for this update is something simple by Haligh: right here. It's Waldo Super-Megatized. I like how he didn't try to make it look like the Waldo character exactly, he basically gave a Super Mega guy glasses and the hat. The idea of Super-Megatizing people appeals to me. WHOO, that was a lot of cool stuff! Today I'm going to start work on a new fan art system where you can browse through the fan art much like you do the comics, and you will be able to select an artist and flip through their fan art. Heck, this could be implemented within a week, so look out for it! One final word, remember to click the vote links at the bottom of the Features page (no registering required, just two clicks). Also if you want to send any fan art my way (Don't be afraid!), mail it on over to JohnnySmash@supermegacomics.com! Later ;D -JohnnySmash Contact: JohnnySmash AT gmail DOT com
